Starks Associates: Empowering Girls In Africa Through Financial Literacy

In today’s world, understanding financial matters is crucial, and every girl deserves the opportunity to learn how to manage her money and feel confident in making financial decisions. On Thursday, March 6th, 2025, the Fashioned and Made for Excellence Foundation (The FAME Foundation), a youth development-focused education nonprofit dedicated to developing the kind of leaders we wish we had in Nigeria, starting from our secondary schools, hosted its much-anticipated Ibadan Head Girl Conference 2025 in partnership with Starks Associates.

Held at the Ibadan Business School in Ibadan, Nigeria, this transformative event was not only a celebration of International Women’s Day but also a mind-shifting mentorship initiative to educate and empower 100 Head Girls in Ibadan with the resources and right knowledge they need to succeed as aspiring leaders in their current roles and become better leaders.

That is why, in partnership with Starks Associates, we created a robust financial literacy masterclass for Head Girls from across the 11 LGAs in Ibadan. This unique opportunity allowed them to engage directly with representatives from Starks Associates, enhancing their financial knowledge and confidence while exploring career options in finance right here in Ibadan, Nigeria.

Eden Ologure, Senior Analyst in Partnership & Treasury Coverage at Starks Associates and one of the official sponsors of the Ibadan Head Girl Conference 2025, educated the young women on personal finance and introduced them to various career opportunities in finance.

The participants learned essential financial practices, asked important questions, and received valuable gifts and insights on managing their money wisely.

Through this engaging and transformative financial masterclass, the Head Girls gained an understanding that the financial choices they make today will shape their future. They learned how to make smart decisions, developed confidence in dealing with money, and discovered how to create a better life for themselves and those around them.

The Head Girls left the session not only inspired but also equipped with a money toolkit, ready to lead, build, earn, save, and dream with confidence.

We are grateful to our partners, Starks Associates, for their continued commitment to promoting financial literacy. They empower young Africans with the right mindset and knowledge necessary for a secure financial future and believe in the power of African girls to shape that future.

Thank you for investing your time and resources in developing financially responsible young Africans.
