The FAME Foundation Equips 1000 Prefects In Ibadan

 The Fashioned and Made for Excellence Foundation (The FAME Foundation), a youth development-focused education nonprofit dedicated to developing the kind of leaders we wish we had in Nigeria starting from our secondary schools, has completed its much-anticipated transformational, prefects, FAME Lead Project 2025, held across 25 secondary schools in Ibadan, Nigeria from May – July 2025.

During the 10-week project, newly selected prefects across the beneficiary schools were equipped with leadership and management skills.

The Founder and Executive Director of The FAME Foundation, Mr. Raphael Stephen, declared in a statement that “the FAME Lead Project bears testament to the organization’s continued commitment to educating and developing 1,000,000 leaders through secondary education by 2030.”

“At FAME, we recognize everything rises and falls on leadership, and we believe that the FAME Lead Project is a strategic part of that journey. Together, we have equipped over 5,000 prefects with leadership values and management skills in nearly a decade across Nigeria.”

The beneficiary schools of the FAME Lead Project 2025 include Ibadan Grammar School 1, Queens School Ibadan, Government College Ibadan, St Teresa’s College Ibadan, Our Lady of Apostles, Rochas Foundation College, Immanuel College High School, lsabatudeen Girls’ Grammar School 1, St Anne’s Senior School 1, People’s Girls’ Grammar School, lsabatudeen Girls’ Grammar School 2, Ikolaba High School, Bashorun High School, Wesley College of Science, St Annes School Senior School 2, Ibadan Grammar School 1, Yejide Girls Grammar School, St Louis Grammar School, Bishop Philips Academy School 1, Oke Bola Comprehensive High School, Ikolaba Grammar School 2, The Vale College, Ikolaba Grammar School 2, Lagelu Grammar School and Bishop Philips Academy School 2.

Through a blend of hands-on learning activities and a “Prefect Challenge,” the transformational training aimed to foster leadership abilities and nurture self-leadership, self-awareness, confidence, compassion, empathy, emotional intelligence, teamwork, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, visioning, conflict resolution, and effective communication.

Commenting, Catherine Passikatala, Project Coordinator (Ibadan), The FAME Foundation: “Learning leadership values and skills while still in secondary school is essential for creating the Nigeria we want. This project allows us to prepare newly selected prefects for their leadership roles next academic year and help the students reach their full potential. By providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and mentorship. We aim to enable them to become effective leaders and changemakers within their schools and communities.”

Since 2018, the FAME Foundation has educated and trained thousands of prefects locally, providing values-based content and best practices, aiming to transform their lives and the lives of those around them.

At the end of the first half of the year, the FAME Foundation has directly equipped and invested in over 1,000 aspiring leaders across secondary schools in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria, through the Ibadan Head Girl Conference, FAME Get One There Project and the FAME Lead Project, which has indirectly impacted over 30,000 aspiring leaders.
